A Landmine Man's Daily Struggle to Survive in Yokohama

-

One slap from the Detective Agency, two from the Port Mafia, and ninety-nine consecutive slaps from the Rats in the House of the Dead.

Nogami Jo's entire impression of Yokohama.

Nogami Jo is a landmine guy.

Nogami Jo is a recent college graduate who came to Yokohama to find a decent job.

Nogami Jo has a terrible temper. He's not cut out to be a white-collar worker.

Luckily, he'd saved up some money doing online gigs, so he rented a small room in Yokohama and got by doing odd jobs.

But it seems that kind of life changed one late night.

He was standing by the river, smoking and wondering whether to get a new earring or another piercing, when someone floated down the river.

Out of kindness, Nogami Jo pulled him out.

The next day, there was a murder in the alley downstairs.

That night, people in suits carrying firearms ran past, followed by a young man's loud shouts. Woken up by the noise, Nogami Jo opened his window and yelled at them for a full twenty minutes.

The whole alley fell silent.

At last, there was only the sound of a window slamming shut.

Back in college, Nogami Jo was known far and wide as a devoted boyfriend type, and countless girls fell for him. They imagined dating him would be like stepping into a manga.

But Nogami Jo knew he had a bad temper.

Gradually, more and more trouble came looking for him. Nogami Jo hated these inexplicable ability users. He moved twice: the first time, a bandage-wearing man found him; the second time, a Russian man did.

His temper was appalling. He flew off the handle for no reason, never even trying to be reasonable. His gloomy eyes always seemed to smolder with a fire ready to break free at any moment.

He was like a ball of porcupine quills. You might turn him over expecting to find a soft body underneath, only to discover a bomb as hard as stone.

And he blew Yokohama to pieces.

In a city where anyone might leap several meters into the air and people carried firearms everywhere, Nogami Jo figured his first priority was staying alive.

Then moving away.

But apparently, even that was hard to achieve.

1. A landmine-type male lead who can argue with a crowd, give people sharp haircuts, and decorate himself with earrings. He's a chaotic, unstable type, but he's getting better, albeit slowly.

2. His charm stat is maxed out, damn it. Is my Jo-chan really a magnet for everyone?

3. Follows the plots of all five anime seasons, a few movies, and the manga updates from September.

4. Entering normal-person mode = becoming a conceptual deity.
