Lone Eagle Kite

After the Battle of Shanghai in 1937, the Chinese-administered areas of Shanghai fell, leaving the foreign concessions as an isolated island. The Japanese secret service’s Mei Agency backed Ding Mocun and Li Shiqun in establishing the No. 76 Special Agent Headquarters, where they launched a brutal campaign to hunt down and kill resistance fighters. The Military Statistics Bureau, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and the CCP’s underground network all suffered devastating losses. Yan Shuangying, a CCP underground operative codenamed “Falcon,” was ordered to infiltrate No. 76. But after his contact was killed and he lost touch with the organization, he became a lone falcon. Meanwhile, Zheng Yaoxian, the CCP’s top undercover agent known as “Kite,” was assigned by Dai Li to reinforce the Shanghai station of the Military Statistics Bureau and step up operations against No. 76 and the Special Higher Police. Neither of these covert agents knew the other’s identity. In the darkness, they tested and clashed with each other, setting off a gripping game of espionage.
