Synopsis

At death's door, Wang Tianfeng, the Military Statistics Bureau's "Poison Bee," was replaced by Lin Feng, a modern-day fan of the TV series. Knowing the entire plot of The Disguiser, Lin Feng decides to set an even more dangerous "death trap" in motion, deliberately going undercover at the Wang puppet government's intelligence headquarters in Shanghai. Amid Wang Manchun's suspicions, Ming Lou's scrutiny, and Ming Cheng's covert investigation, he walks a razor's edge, using intelligence from his foreknowledge and manic performances to forge himself into a blade aimed at the enemy's heart. This time, the "madman" will write a different story.

The Ten Best Anti-Japanese War Novels

Looking for something similar to "Where the Smoke of War Ends" ("Beacon Fires and Runaway Soldiers"). It's one of the best novels about the War of Resistance Against Japan I've ever read. The writing is excellent and feels very authentic, with lots of vivid detail. I read part of it before, then lost track of it. After searching for years, I finally found it again recently.
