Tale of Two Stars on a Lonely Island

In 1939, during Shanghai's isolated-island period, the 76 Office has just been established as a den of evil, and Japanese agents run rampant. Yan Shuangying, an underground Communist Party member, infiltrates the 76 Office under the name "Earl," walking a razor's edge. Meanwhile, Zheng Yaoxian, a top undercover agent of the Central Special Operations Division codenamed "Kite," is assigned by Dai Li to the Shanghai station of the Military Statistics Bureau, where he secretly lays plans in the French Concession. The two covert operatives know nothing of each other, yet share the same mission. Amid a world of espionage where friend and foe are hard to tell apart and death is always close, they engage in a thrilling contest against traitors and spies such as Ding Mocun and Li Shiqun, playing out a silent battle that will determine whether Shanghai's underground organization survives.
