Detective Di Renjie: A Mysterious Case

In the second year of the Tianshou era under Empress Wu, an unidentified woman’s corpse appeared in Luoyang’s ghost market, a blood-red peony embroidered on her back. The body bore no wounds, but a faint, strange fragrance lingered at her throat. Acting on an imperial order, Di Renjie secretly investigated and discovered that the embroidery was connected to an old palace case. Night fog blanketed the ghost market, witnesses fell silent one after another, and the half of a seal found in the woman’s hand pointed straight to the depths of the forbidden gardens. When the blood-red embroidery appeared for the seventh time, a corner of the mystery surrounding a secret of imperial power was finally torn away, and strange cases began to occur in rapid succession.
