Siheyuan: In 1955, I Stole Technology for the Motherland

Lu Zheng opens his eyes and finds himself a naval procurement officer in 1955.

The System activates. His starter pack: 3,000 Type 81 rifles.

He promptly hands the guns over to the state. After personally testing one, General Xiao gives the order: “What support do you need?”

Lu Zheng says, “First, assign me a place to live. No. 95 Nanluoguxiang will do.”

On his first day in the courtyard house, Yi Zhonghai puts on airs and tries to lay down the rules.

Lu Zheng glances at his shoulder insignia. “You’re only a Grade Eight worker. What makes you think you can tell me what to do?”

The next day, he drives to Qin Village. As Jia Dongxu’s prospective bride steps out, Lu Zheng swoops in and steals her away.

Qin Huairu asks, “Commander, what are you doing?”

Lu Zheng says, “Come to the city with me. I’ll make sure you have a sewing machine and a bicycle, and I’ll arrange your household registration and a job.”

Six months later, the general calls. “Coastal defenses are under strain. Get us some equipment.”

Lu Zheng says, “Understood.”

The next day, seeing destroyers and nuclear submarines docked at the port, the general covers his face. “I asked you to procure equipment, not buy an aircraft carrier!”

Yi Zhonghai tries to guilt-trip him? Lu Zheng sends him out to sweep the streets.

Jia Zhangshi throws a tantrum? She can learn what it means to sabotage national defense.

From major to lieutenant general, from Type 81 rifles to nuclear warheads.

When the American aircraft carrier is forced to retreat three hundred nautical miles, Lu Zheng lights a Huazi cigarette:

“Truth is found only within the range of artillery. And I’m the one who decides that range.”
