Xiwu and Chenye

Tang Xiwu was lonely from childhood and was adopted by the Jin couple of the capital, but she could never win over Grandma Jin, who favored boys over girls. When Jin Chenye returned from studying abroad, he married her without a second thought, nearly making his grandmother ill with anger. Two years later, she gave birth to twins, Tangtang and An'an, and thought she had finally secured a peaceful life. Then Meng Zhiyao, a student Jin Chenye had once sponsored, suddenly barged into their lives.

Meng Zhiyao was charming and smooth-talking, always saying the right thing. She won Grandma Jin over, earning her affection and getting whatever she asked for. Jin Chenye was also unusually indulgent toward his “sensible” junior schoolmate. Soon afterward, news of Meng Zhiyao’s pregnancy struck like a bolt of lightning, shattering all of Tang Xiwu’s hopes.

Watching her husband take Meng Zhiyao’s side, Grandma Jin’s cruelty, and that woman’s smug expression, Tang Xiwu’s heart finally died. She resolutely signed the divorce papers and left the Jin family, which had left her covered in scars, with young Tangtang and An'an. The warm haven she had once believed in had ultimately turned out to be an illusion. As a single mother, Tang Xiwu will shine on her own with her two adorable children in a world without Jin Chenye. Only after losing her does Jin Chenye finally come to his senses and embark on the long road to winning his wife back.
