Nanwu Beneath the Military Flag, Chuan’an in My Heart

Two years ago, at a military camp in Haicheng, Shen Nanwu first met Fu Chuan: the sharp-eyed, straight-backed special forces soldier who stood beside her second brother, Shen Nanfeng. A famous admirer of good looks, she found that Fu Chuan was exactly her type, and fell for him at first sight. At the time, they were both members of the special forces. Training side by side and chatting during breaks became sweet memories she kept hidden in her heart. But before she could confess her feelings, Fu Chuan received orders to attend a grueling training program at the Hunter Training Camp. Shen Nanwu waited for him, only to hear that he had become the “King of Soldiers,” and to face the hostility of his childhood friend, Ouyang Ya. Convinced that Shen Nanwu was a homewrecker, Ouyang Ya made things difficult for her with cutting remarks and even secretly hired people to corner her, leaving Shen Nanwu to suffer one humiliation after another at the camp. Heartbroken, Shen Nanwu chose to leave and pursue a degree in psychology at the University of Paris, hoping to sever the feelings she had never confessed. Then one day, a call from her second brother came through from across the ocean. He hesitated before telling her, “Fu Chuan and Ouyang Ya… are engaged.” Shen Nanwu fell silent, then suddenly laughed, her laughter full of relief and resolve. She spoke softly into the phone: “I’ll never return to Haicheng again.” From then on, the city that held her youthful first love and all her hurt, along with the man named Fu Chuan, became a part of her past that she would never revisit.
