Huifen, a 25-year-old Yi widow from Heima Village in Wafang, Yangbi County, lost her husband when he accidentally fell off a cliff. She raises her young son, XiaoshanzI, alone. After working away from home for three years, she returns with her savings and Li Xiang, a businessman from out of town, planning to develop ecological farming and marry again. Her decision shakes the whole village. More than twenty bachelors who have long coveted her try to make things difficult for her, while villagers suspect that Li Xiang has something to hide. At the same time, strange events break out in the village: an ancestral Yi embroidered handkerchief glows red in the middle of the night, children dream of figures dressed in black, the bronze bells at the ancient Yi shrine ring on their own, and people entering the mountains mysteriously lose their way.
As Huifen navigates the villagers' suspicions and the bachelors' harassment, she and Li Xiang grow closer through their shared hardships. But she discovers that Li Xiang has concealed a crucial secret: his grandfather was once from Heima Village and was driven out after being accused of stealing a sacred ancestral treasure. Li Xiang has come to recover it and clear his grandfather's name. More shocking still, Huifen's husband's fatal fall was no accident. It is closely connected to the treasure's whereabouts and the truth behind the grandfather's expulsion. As their investigation advances, outsiders coveting the treasure infiltrate the village, bringing danger from both within and without. Huifen relies on her intelligence and courage, while Li Xiang draws on his business acumen and family ties to the ancestral shrine. Together they explore the ancient Yi shrine, investigate old grievances, resolve conflicts within the village, and unite the villagers against their enemies. Meanwhile, the ecological farming business grows and brings prosperity to the villagers, while secondary romances blossom, including one between Huifen's friend and an outside technician, and another between a bachelor who once harassed Huifen and a young woman who has returned home to start a business. In the end, they uncover the truth: the grandfather was framed, and the treasure is actually an ecological map and ancestral silver ornaments protected by the Yi people.
