A Guide to Fitting In on Doomsday

Three months after the zombie virus outbreak, the city has been reduced to ruins. No superpowers, no golden finger. With nothing but her talent for keeping her head down and a smattering of first-aid knowledge, Lin Wan struggles to survive amid the rubble.

She has no interest in playing the hero or fooling around in a group. Her only goal is to stay alive: scavenge for supplies before dawn, check the wind before hiding from zombies, be wary of strangers, and only save people in trouble when it’s worth the risk. The supermarket shelves are bare? She found the hidden storeroom at her neighborhood convenience store long ago. Surrounded by a zombie horde? She can use her familiarity with the old town’s alleys to lose them until they’re ready to doubt their own existence.

But plans never keep up with change. The severely injured man she took in turns out to be a hidden big shot, the old lady in the next building is a fantastic cook, and even the neighbor she once couldn’t stand becomes a comrade she can trust to watch her back when it matters.

Food runs out, ammunition gets scarce, and people grow suspicious. But Lin Wan discovers that compared with toughing it out alone, muddling through life with reliable people seems to help her last a few more days in this apocalypse. There is no savior and no perfect ending, just a group of ordinary people pulling one another through their desperate circumstances, grumbling as they struggle, and managing to carve out a little everyday warmth in the end times.
