I Spoil the Plot to Help the Crippled Prince Slay His Way to Victory

I transmigrated into a book and became the cannon-fodder princess sent to bring luck to a disabled prince.

On our wedding night, my husband, Xiao Jue, sat in a wheelchair. The sleeve where his arm had been hung empty, and his handsome, pallid face was more terrifying than a ghost’s.

He looked at me coldly. “I hear your fate is strong enough to ward off evil. Tonight, you’ll sleep here. I want to see whether you can ward off ghosts, or a ghost can get the better of you.”

The next moment, a fierce wind howled. A red-clad ghost with wild, unkempt hair burst through the wall and charged straight at me.

The guards of the prince’s manor nearly wet themselves. Even my husband, the prince, gripped his sword, a trace of resigned death in his eyes.

They all thought I was done for.

But I calmly adjusted my phoenix crown, almost wanting to laugh.

I’d read the original story. I knew what the ghost was afraid of.

I cleared my throat and addressed the stupefied captain of the guards. “In the southeast corner, beneath the third floor tile, is the gold hairpin she treasured in life. Go dig it up and throw it into the brazier in front of her.”

Everyone looked at me as if I were the ghost.

The moment the hairpin hit the fire, the ghost let out a piercing shriek and turned into a wisp of smoke. The entire manor fell deathly silent.

My disabled prince husband fixed his one remaining eye on me for the first time. Stormy waves surged in his gaze, as if he meant to swallow me whole.

I thought: Don’t look at me like that. I just used a spoiler cheat, and I’m freaking out.
