The Female General Spoils the World’s Greatest Strategist

I’m the undefeated God of War. After losing command of my troops, I “pamper” a sickly beauty in the capital.

My achievements were so great they threatened the throne, so I was stripped of my military command and went from God of War to an idle general everyone in the capital keeps at arm’s length.

My enemies celebrated, thinking they’d trapped a fierce tiger in a cage.

They don’t know that I may not understand schemes, but I know who’s worth protecting.

Like the painter Xie Lanzhou, whom I happened to rescue.

He’s more beautiful than any woman I’ve ever seen, but so frail that a gust of wind makes him cough and a few words leave him gasping for breath.

I keep him at my estate, and just getting him to take his medicine every day takes three big bowls.

The whole capital laughs that I, Qin Ying, have lost my military command and taken to indulging in handsome men, keeping a useless, sickly weakling.

I thought so too. I thought I’d simply taken in a fragile canary.

That is, until the day the petitions impeaching me piled up like a mountain.
