Song of Crimson: The Heart of the World Tree

Three hundred years after the genetic catastrophe known as the Great Rift tore the world apart, humanity huddles inside its last stronghold, Aetherkeep. Its people worship absolute genetic purity and regard the mutated world beyond the walls as a plague that must be eradicated.

Yet on the Crimson Wasteland, blanketed in toxic spores, the nomadic Dreamweaver tribes live in harmony with the land. They can “weave” the planet’s life force, known as aether.

Karen is a young Dreamweaver with wild, untamed power, regarded as an ill omen by his people. When Grayblight, a sickness that blocks aether and brings withering death, sweeps through the tribe, he becomes their only hope.

To save his people, he must journey to the source of the calamity and find the legendary relic known as the Heart of the World Tree. But Aetherkeep’s iron-fisted councilor covets the relic too, hoping to use it to launch a final “purification” and wipe out every “impurity” in the world.

A race between survival and destruction, purity and coexistence, begins. Hunted and driven to the brink, Karen must battle not only enemies from the fortress of civilization and monsters lurking in the depths of the wasteland, but also the terrifying power within him, a force capable of destroying everything.

In the end, he will discover that the key to saving the world lies not in what he finds, but in what he becomes.
