Echoes of the New Ashen Earth

Hundreds of years after the Great Cataclysm destroyed civilization, the world has become a vast wasteland known as the Ashlands. Humanity clings to life in scattered oasis city-states, venerating the old world’s magnificent technology as divine wonders.

During a desperate scavenging run, a young scavenger named Kyle accidentally touches an “Origin Chip” from the past. His life is changed forever. Terrifying visions of the apocalypse, forgotten historical truths, and a dangerous ability to “hear” the memories of matter thrust him into the eye of fate.

To avenge the mentor and father figure who once saved him, and to uncover the source of the apocalyptic echoes in his mind, Kyle is forced to join forces with an idealistic historian from an ivory tower. Together, they embark on a desperate journey across the Ashlands.

Behind them is the fanatical Church of the Mechanical Priests, which sees them as heretics and vows to “rekindle the heart of God.” Before them lie mutated monsters that prey on anyone in the Ashlands and desperate outlaws whose motives are impossible to read.

When Kyle discovers that the “god” worshipped by the Church is actually a cosmic parasite lurking in the depths of an ancient network and feeding on human consciousness, his only choice is to find the legendary “Final Protocol” and stop an ultimate catastrophe even more complete than the Great Cataclysm.

This is a story of memory and forgetting, freedom and fate. Amid the embers of civilization, how can one ordinary man stand against the echoes rising from the abyss?
