The Little Sprite of the Fairy Constellation

The Andromeda Galaxy, M31, is home to the most precious little being in the universe: Lingxi. The youngest of countless holy spirits among the starry seas, she is cradled in the hands of the Creator, an "old man," and spoiled rotten by her older brothers and sisters until she becomes a little tyrant. The energy of star cores is candy to her, nebula fragments are toys, and the entire galaxy is her playground.

But a cosmic catastrophe caused by her mischief sends the beloved little spirit down to the mortal world to atone.

She undergoes three lives of tribulation. In her first, she is a pampered princess of a dynasty, enjoying every luxury but becoming entangled in palace intrigue and tasting the bitterness of betrayal by her own family. In her second, she becomes a compassionate holy figure revered by the common people, traveling far and wide to save the suffering and coming to understand the sorrow in the saying, "All living beings suffer." In her third, she is reduced to a wretched orphan, tossed from place to place and struggling to survive hunger and storms, enduring all the hardship and despair of life at the bottom.

Falling from the clouds into the mud, she changes from reckless and unruly to steady and resilient. The joys and sorrows, the cycle of life and death, and the partings and reunions of three lifetimes smooth away her rough edges and fill her soul.

When the suffering of her final life comes to an end, the insights she has gathered in the human world turn into spiritual radiance, and a star gate that tears through space and time opens once more. The mischievous spirit of the starry seas, once spoiled beyond measure, finally returns to her Andromeda home, carrying the warmth and bustle of mortal life with her, and becomes a true holy spirit capable of protecting the balance of the universe.
