Honor of Kings: At the King of Kings Cup, You Pick Liu Shan for the Jungle

Jiang Ran is a rookie streamer who drops into the Dragon Kingdom’s biggest livestreaming tournament, the King of Fighters Cup!

Every other competitor is a top streamer. He’s the only complete unknown. Nobody gives him a second glance on draft night, and he’s forced onto the championship team as a substitute. The whole internet mocks him: “Nepotism hire, get out of the King of Fighters Cup!” “The team picked up a total deadweight!”

After sitting on the bench for three straight matches, he thinks he’s just there for show. Then the team is backed into a corner, and the coach finally sends him in to take the fall.

“Jiang Ran, you’re jungling!”

At this life-or-death moment, a System suddenly blares to life! “Ding! Host detected in dire straits and facing public scorn!” “The ‘Wild Plays’ System is activated!” “The more outrageous your hero pick, the better the rewards! Show us what you’ve got!”

Jiang Ran: “Got it, Coach! I’ll pick someone reliable!” Then he immediately locks in Liu Shan for the jungle!

The commentators are stunned. “L-Liu Shan in the jungle?! Does that hero even have a jungle route?!” His opponents laugh. “What, giving up already? This is a free win!” The chat explodes: “Is he going to ram monsters with that cradle cart?” “Can that thing even gank? I’ll eat my screen if it can!”

But then… with Liu Shan spinning around in his ultimate, “Love’s Magical Twirl,” and crushing all three lanes with his weight, he uses his mechanical claw to yank the enemy carry out from under their tower. The entire virtual world goes wild!

The audience is shocked. “Holy crap! Liu Shan’s gank just crushed their jungle and support, and he walked away at full health?!”

His opponents are at their wits’ end. “Why is that thing faster in the jungle than Han Xin?! Can you at least respect the current meta?!”

“Ding! Wild play successful. Jungle-dominating Liu Shan’s proficiency is maxed out!”

“Who says a support can’t be king of the jungle?”
