Duty and Shackles

Lin Zhiyuan, a top materials scientist from 2035, carries more than just blueprints for weapons. Inside his body is a highly integrated “strategic support base” in the form of nanobots. It can produce supplies from a more advanced era on command, but it has one crucial limitation: it cannot directly replicate finished weapons. It can only provide fundamental industrial technologies, materials, and theoretical frameworks that are 10 to 20 years ahead of the present. This clever restriction prevents the story from making its protagonist invincible too early, elevating the central conflict from “making weapons” to the greater challenge of “sowing the seeds of industry.”

· Core Conflict: The clash between individual intervention and the tide of history. Each technological aid could trigger unpredictable “historical corrective forces.” A hero saved from death might fall in another battle, while accelerating progress could provoke even more brutal retaliation from the enemy. This lends the story suspense and philosophical depth.
