A Home in Republican-Era China, with Him Hidden in My Pocket Dimension

Shanghai's International Settlement, 1926. Trying to land a deal for a foreign-style villa, Su Wan climbs over the wall to scout the Gu residence, only to tumble into the arms of a refined man: Gu Yanci, a botanist recently returned from studying abroad, and the owner of the house.

Desperate to avoid his questions, Su Wan ducks into a rock garden in a panic and accidentally discovers a portable space where crops can be grown. From then on, she spends her days working as a real estate agent and competing with others for clients, and her nights growing medicinal herbs in the space to sell and pay for her younger brother's treatment. Gu Yanci, however, always seems to “happen” to appear when she is hiding in the space. He watches her hurriedly stash things away, amusement hidden in his eyes.

“Miss Su, you keep getting ‘lost’ in my garden. Are you taken with my flowers, or... with me?”
