A Fantasy Chronicle of Jianghu Master and Disciple

An unnamed wife flees from a fire at her husband’s home. Desperate for a chance to survive, she kneels at the mountain gate of Xie Guxuan, a supposedly unorthodox “demon” said to have slaughtered countless people. He takes me on as his disciple simply because he finds me amusing. My life in the martial world begins with washing his clothes, testing his poisons, and serving as a live target for his sword practice. Everyone in the martial world calls me an evil accomplice and a little demon, and the righteous sects want me dead. They don’t know that when I’m surrounded, my deranged master can sweep half a mountain clear with one stroke of his sword; when I go berserk while practicing, he can use his own inner force to keep me alive; and he can toss me the finest sword techniques in the world and casually say, “If you can’t learn it, die.”

I have no golden finger. The only things I can rely on are my unfailing memory and the endurance I forged in the depths of hell. I learn the sword in desperate straits and find my path while being hunted, growing step by step from a burden sheltered beneath my master’s wings into someone strong enough to stand beside him. When the martial world’s conspiracy targets my reclusive, ill-tempered master, I stand before him with my sword drawn. Even with the whole world against me, I have nothing to fear. He gave me this life, and my path is to keep him safe.

This is a story of redemption and protection, of two people supporting each other through the darkness and ultimately overturning a hypocritical martial world.
