The Imperial Guards: A Modern Crime Decoder

Shen Jinghong, a Ming Dynasty Embroidered Uniform Guard, was protecting the Mind-Reading Mirror when he was pursued by the Anchor Keepers and unexpectedly transmigrated into the modern era. Dressed in a flying-fish uniform and carrying an embroidered spring saber, he had barely arrived before Detective Su Rui mistook him for a crazy cosplayer. But when an antiques restorer died at the hands of a Ming Dynasty silk garrote, and a business tycoon was burned to death with tung oil in a recreation of a Hongwu-era corruption case, three consecutive murders echoing across past and present left Su Rui no choice but to believe that this transmigrated Embroidered Uniform Guard was the key to solving the serial crimes. The Mind-Reading Mirror can reveal the memories of objects, but every use drains Shen Jinghong's vitality. Su Rui has modern forensic methods at her disposal, yet cannot unravel the connection between her grandfather's disappearance and the Ming Dynasty fragments. As their investigation deepens, they discover that the murders are sacrificial rites performed by the Anchor Keepers, whose goal is to open a rift in time and space. On the other side of the rift lies the extraterrestrial secret behind the disappearance of Zheng He's fleet. More chilling still, the leader of the Anchor Keepers is none other than Shen Jinghong himself, who transmigrated five hundred years ago! Two formidable allies from different eras join forces, uncovering the ultimate twist behind the survival of civilization amid crimes spanning past and present.
