Rule Number 100 for the Funeral Home Night Shift Is the Way Out

In 1983, in a small southern town, A Wu takes a temporary night-shift job at a state-run funeral home to help pay for his father’s medical bills. But he soon finds himself haunted by a copy of the Night Shift Rules with Rule 100 missing: Never answer knocking from the morgue at midnight. When applying makeup to a corpse with blue spots, the red light must be on. Break the rules, and you’ll either develop bizarre bruises or “resign automatically” out of thin air. When he finds a copper key belonging to the epidemic prevention team in the collar of corpse No. 307, he learns that a secret about an epidemic from the Republic of China era lies beneath the funeral home. To find the hundredth way to survive, A Wu draws on the Shen family bloodline to brave the quarantine room and activate the Dawnlight Array. Through the reversal between “awakening the Epidemic King” and “purifying the source of the plague,” he finally understands the last line of the rules: “The way to survive is compassion.” But just as he saves the town, plague thralls glowing with fluorescent light appear at the hospital in the west of town. This three-generation fight against the epidemic is not over yet...
