The Workaholic Empress Only Wants to Farm

Su Muzhe, an illegitimate daughter from a family of farming officials, is sent to the palace as a low-ranking concubine and assigned to its most remote, desolate courtyard. Faced with the palace's endless power struggles and schemes, she chooses to keep to herself. Using a few small plots of farmland left behind by her predecessors and her exceptional knowledge of agriculture, she starts a farming life deep within the palace. She does not compete for favor or curry the emperor's favor; all she wants is a quiet, stable life. Yet her fruits and vegetables are deliciously sweet, her rare flowers and plants surpass all others in the imperial harem, and even her fruit wine and scented balms win the favor of the Empress Dowager and the emperor.

Su Muzhe's little garden unintentionally becomes a sanctuary within the palace, making her a target for everyone. Forced to use her farming skills to solve the palace's problems, she uses rare medicinal herbs to quell an epidemic, applies the principles of plants that complement or counteract each other to uncover a poisoning plot, and draws on her knowledge of food production to help the emperor cope with natural disasters and human calamities. In the end, with her deft hands and untroubled heart, she builds an influence unmatched in the treacherous imperial harem, transforms a cold palace into a true earthly paradise, and wins the emperor's unique love and respect.
