I'm Taking Grandpa Alzheimer's by Storm in the Retirement Home Scene

Reborn as Xingmian: I’m Helping My Grandfather with Alzheimer’s Dominate the Retirement Scene

When Lin Xingmian died from overwork in her hospice-care job, all she could think about was Grandpa Zhao clutching his consent form for euthanasia. It was the greatest regret of her life.

When she opened her eyes, she had gone back to the year she graduated at twenty-two! Grandpa Zhao wouldn’t submit his application for another six months. This time, she would not only stop him, but turn the burden of elder care into a comedy!

She set her sights on Grandpa Zhao, who was soft-hearted beneath his stubborn exterior. She taught him how to send voice messages on his phone, but he said “red-braised pork” as “red silk dancing.” She helped him create a “Memory Journal” app to save his memories, but he used it to trade barbs online with his old rival, Li Dahai. She filmed a short video poking fun at the background music of square dancing, and Grandpa Zhao went viral thanks to his unexpected cuteness, gaining a million followers and becoming a top-tier star in the retirement scene!

Along the way, she also won over the sharp-tongued Dr. Gu. Gu Yanci gave her anti-hair-loss shampoo as a present, and could silence a milk tea shop owner while urging Grandpa Zhao to stay healthy, yet secretly helped Grandpa Zhao get a spot at the front of the line for candied hawthorns.

The euthanasia organization comes harassing them? The “Golden Oldies Fun Crew” springs into action: Grandma Zhang folds leaflets into paper airplanes, while Li Dahai lectures the staff until they flee in panic. Grandpa’s condition takes a turn? The whole family plays “memory games” with him. Even his great-grandchild knows to say, “Grandpa, don’t cheat at chess!”

Watching Grandpa’s face crinkle with laughter, Lin Xingmian suddenly understood: being reborn wasn’t about changing fate. It was about using apps, candied hawthorns, and love to turn the regret of being afraid of becoming a burden into a lively, joyful life!
