After Reincarnating as a Farm Girl, I Led the Whole Village to Prosperity

After an accident in the lab, Lin Wei, a top student at an agricultural university, unexpectedly transmigrates in the womb and is born into a farming family in Qingshi Village, a riverside settlement in Jiangnan in an alternate dynasty. She becomes “Pandi.” The moment she opens her eyes, she finds herself in a thatched hut with bare walls, facing a grandmother who favors boys over girls, a simple, taciturn farmer for a father, a frail and frequently ill mother, and an older sister burdened with the name “Zhaodi.” One challenge to survival follows another.

As the second daughter, and one nobody wanted, she must endure her grandmother’s harassment and her uncle’s schemes, as well as the whole family’s struggle to get enough to eat. But Lin Wei refuses to give in to despair. At just three years old, she uses the excuse of “visions in a dream” to lead her family into the hills to gather wild vegetables. New dishes like shepherd’s purse cakes and cold purslane improve their meals. When she discovers her mother’s skill at embroidery, she draws fresh rose patterns and guides her mother in stitching designs that sell well, earning the family its first steady income.

When she spots an unused patch of low-lying land beside the village, she persuades her father, over the objections of others, to turn it into a lotus pond. She oversees everything herself, from selecting seeds to irrigation. The family harvests plump lotus roots, while lotus leaves and flowers become a hit at the market. After the pond brings in a good harvest, she shares her growing techniques freely with the villagers, helping the whole village build a lotus-root industry. She also improves rice-farming methods and promotes techniques such as using plant ash as fertilizer and properly composting farm manure, greatly increasing grain yields in Qingshi Village.
