A Light Tunnel Through the Tang Dynasty: The Time-Traveling Adventures of a Warehouse Manager

A clap of thunder on a rainy night shattered the barriers of time and space. Chen Mo, a modern warehouse manager making his rounds, stumbled upon a mysterious portal shimmering with a pale blue light. An unseen force pulled him inside. When he opened his eyes again, he was in a Tang dynasty alley paved with bluestone, beneath the moonlight of the seventh year of the Kaiyuan era. Villagers in coarse clothes, soldiers in bright armor, rustic tiled houses, and wisps of cooking smoke formed an ancient scene so vivid it sent a chill through him.

Chen Mo had never imagined that the modern logistics warehouse where he worked the night shift for Hengtong Warehousing concealed a secret passage connecting two eras a thousand years apart. On the other side of the portal lay a Tang village ravaged by drought, where people struggled to survive. Hungry and freezing, he was taken in by the kind barefoot doctor Granny Wang. But his strange clothes and lighter, which could conjure fire out of nowhere, soon got him branded a “demon” and hunted down.

In his desperation, Chen Mo discovered that the portal worked both ways. The mountain of supplies in the warehouse gave him the means to help: snow-white rice eased the villagers’ famine, cold medicine cured a child’s cough, improved seeds sprouted in barren soil, and simple irrigation equipment brought life-saving river water to the fields. He cautiously traveled between the two worlds, using modern knowledge to improve life in the past, unaware that he was quietly changing the course of history.

But his well-intentioned help soon brought danger.
