The Villa Passage: A Tycoon Trading Goods Between Two Worlds

Unemployed and struggling to make ends meet, office worker Lin Yue inherits a suburban villa from a distant grandaunt. There she unexpectedly discovers that an antique pearwood wardrobe in the attic is a mysterious passage between the modern and ancient worlds. The moment she touches its brass lock, she awakens a ten-cubic-meter pocket dimension and gains the ability to preserve food and repair objects. From then on, the wheels of fate turn in a whole new direction.

When Lin Yue first arrives in the ancient town of Yong'an, she uses modern “novelties” like compressed rations and flashlights to open up a market. She partners with Wang, the proprietor of Hengchang General Store, taking her first step toward trading between the two worlds. Quick to spot the ancient world's shortages of grain and medicine, she brings in modern high-yield seeds, antibiotics, and other supplies. As she solves problems affecting people's livelihoods, she also amasses a fortune. One compressed ration trades for two taels of silver; a box of penicillin saves a life. Her tiny pocket dimension becomes a bridge for transporting goods between the two worlds.

As her business grows, Lin Yue's pocket dimension expands to fifty cubic meters, and her ability evolves to include healing. She also unlocks a plot of dark soil that accelerates plant growth. No longer content with simple exchanges of goods, she begins bringing modern farming methods and sanitation knowledge to the ancient world. She teaches people to dig wells and build toilets, promotes high-yield rice and potato cultivation, and draws plans for waterwheels to improve irrigation. These efforts earn her the reputation of “Fairy Lin” and win her the favor of County Magistrate Liu of Yong'an, along with official status.

But success attracts trouble. Zhao, a wealthy landowner whose grain monopoly is threatened, sets a trap for her, while the chief judge of the Imperial Medical Bureau covets the secret formula for her “miracle medicine.”
