My Overbearing Husband: Duan Linzhou

Happiness Against the Current

When she was twelve, the gears of fate began to turn. Xiang Yunlu followed her mother, Su Yao, through the doors of the Duan family. Su Yao had remarried her classmate, Duan Jiaxu. Just like that, Xiang Yunlu and Duan Linzhou became siblings with no blood relation.

At first, Duan Linzhou felt somewhat resistant to this sister who had suddenly barged into his life. But Xiang Yunlu was sweet and considerate, like the warm sunshine of spring, and slowly drove away the gloom in his heart. They went to school and did their homework together. As the years passed, their sibling affection began to change in subtle ways.

At sixteen, Xiang Yunlu secretly wrote a diary about her crush on Duan Linzhou, filling its pages with a young girl's delicate yet passionate thoughts. By chance, Duan Linzhou discovered it. Their eyes met, and a thousand words passed between them. They confessed their feelings and began a secret relationship.

Their love was cautious, like a flower blooming in the dark. But their peaceful days were shattered when Song Yaoyao appeared, assigned to Duan Linzhou's side. She knew about their relationship and deliberately provoked Xiang Yunlu, leaving her hurt and helpless.

But Duan Linzhou had made up his mind. He no longer wanted to keep their relationship secret. After summoning his courage, he came clean to Duan Jiaxu and Su Yao, told them how he felt about Xiang Yunlu, and asked for their approval so that he could marry her openly.
