Dr. Lin, Please Accept My Heart

When Lin Sui Sui was twenty-two, she watched as He Zhixing placed the compensation for her brother Lin Feng’s death before their parents. Her brother had died shielding his team leader, He Zhixing, during a raid. In his final moments, he had clutched her photograph and said, “Please take care of my sister.”

Three years later, she became He Zhixing’s wife. She had stitched up nine of his wounds with a scalpel in battlefield tents, and had listened to him say on a bench in the military camp late at night, “Sui Sui, when I retire, I’ll take you home.”

Then the white lotus appeared on the training ground. In that instant, Lin Sui Tang watched He Zhixing’s back freeze in place and suddenly wondered if the trust her brother had bought with his life had been a mistake from the very beginning.

She signed the divorce papers in a hurry, packed her things, and transferred to the Western Theater Command, becoming the youngest military doctor on the Sky Wolf Special Operations Team. Through days when sandstorms swept over her camouflage uniform, she thought she could finally stop caring about that man.

But then, one early morning, He Zhixing burst into the treatment room covered in wounds, a fragment of shrapnel still lodged in his shoulder. He explained to Sui Sui:

No matter how thick the smoke of war, it couldn’t stop him from turning back after crossing a thousand miles. This time, he would be the one chasing after her white coat, making up for every kindness he owed her, little by little.
