Rain Master: A Murderous Umbrella from the Start

For thirty years, bone-eating rain has shrouded the world, its drops corroding flesh and bone as the land withers. The fallen scholar Mo Weiyu carries the mystery of his family's slaughter and struggles to survive the bitter rain, relying solely on his exceptional wits to navigate a world in chaos. A ruined painting concealing a blood feud and half of an ancient jade pendant that stirs murderous intent drag him into the heart of the maelstrom. The legendary key to controlling the heavens, the “Cloud Palace,” has resurfaced, and the martial world's overlords, the Listening Rain Pavilion, the iron-fisted warlords of the Deepwater Army, and the mysterious Keepers of the Gate all clash in a brutal struggle to claim it.

Mo Weiyu turns the curtain of rain into a game board and human nature into his blade:

► He conceals his edge beneath a blue umbrella and outwits the Listening Rain Pavilion's countless schemes;

► He harnesses his bloodline to withstand the rain and secretly seizes fragments of the keys, including the Star-Setting Compass and Cloud-Gathering Banner;

► He uncovers a century-old lie and is horrified to learn that the corrosive rain is a ritual to feed an evil demon!

When the powers of all eight directions gather to hunt across the wasteland, he uses himself as bait to summon a thunderclap, and a flash of sunlight tears open the firmament. Yet on the day the Cloud Palace is unsealed, the mastermind reveals his hand, using the blood rain to breach the underworld. His dearest friend dies, and the land teeters on the brink of ruin. Mo Weiyu writes the calamity into being, shatters the key, and disperses its fragments into the earth's veins, finally bringing down life-giving rain.

Ten years later, the martial world still tells tales of the “Rain Master”:

A scholar in blue strides across a clear sky, with half a piece of jade in his sleeve, a shard that once nourished all living things.

The Cloud Palace lies silent forever, and not a trace of the old rain remains across the vast land.
