I Saved Your Life, So Call Me Daddy of Infrastructure

When extreme climate destroyed the world’s infrastructure, human civilization fell back into an age of ruins. Ling Xiao, a top civil engineer obsessed with city-building simulation games, gained a “Wonder Construction System” in an accident. From then on, the entire world became a vast sandbox game in his eyes. He took the thrill of building to the extreme: while other survivors struggled to find a mouthful of clean water, he built a small dam from scrap overnight. While others still huddled in tents, his 3D-printed drones were already constructing a sturdy fortress equipped with automatic turrets. He had no intention of becoming a savior or an emperor of the wasteland. He was simply an incurable “infrastructure maniac.” Yet from shelters to towering bridges spanning impossible chasms, and then to mighty flood-control dams, he ultimately built one wonder city after another across the wasteland, becoming the one and only “Father of Civilization.”
