After Wrongfully Imprisoning the Shadow Guard, the Immortal Healer Begs for a Second Chance

When the last lamp of Tingfeng Sword Manor went out on a rainy night, the warmth of the sword hilt still lingered in Ling Feng’s hand. The Flowing Wind Sword, engraved with the words “Ling Feng,” was eventually reforged into a weapon for the prince’s secret guard, the Night Owl. It was just like his free spirit, forged by power into a cold killing machine. The moonlight of Xuanhu Valley had once been his only salvation. The warmth of Yun Qing’s fingertips and the crisp chime of the wind-chime stone sword tassel had both etched the name “A Qing” into the kiss mark on his collarbone.

They were confidants sharing drinks beneath the moon and lovers entwined in a little house. But the instant Ling Feng’s identity as the “Night Owl” was revealed, they became each other’s sharpest blades. Yun Qing’s golden needles went from sacred instruments of healing to bone-corroding poison. Every time he drove one into Ling Feng, it pierced an old wound left by their first meeting beneath the moon. Ling Feng’s Flowing Wind Sword went from a symbol of carefree vengeance to a bloodstained weapon he was forced to wield. Every swing severed what little warmth remained between him and Yun Qing. The wind-chime stone shattered when Yun Qing broke the sword tassel in front of everyone. The moonlight cracked on the rainy night Ling Feng fell in a pool of blood, forced to watch the blood of his miscarriage spread before his eyes.

When the prince’s “Dust-Forgetting Powder” erased Ling Feng’s memories, not a glimmer remained in his vacant eyes. After the truth came to light, only Yun Qing’s desperate quest to win him back remained, each bloodstained step in plain clothes measuring the distance of his remorse. They were twin blades, a calamity written into each other’s fate. The person who understood the other best would ultimately use love and hatred as a blade, stabbing the other into an eternal nightmare. Shards of the wind-chime stone dug into their palms, and the sword tassel in the moonlight was stained with blood. Their bond, which began beneath the moon, was ultimately torn apart by the grinding wheels of power, shattered into irreparable wind and broken moonlight.
