His Serpent Tail Won't Let Me Get Cold

In the far north of the Nine Heavens, there once stood the Frostglory Divine Hall, where time itself stood still, and lived a cold, solitary god named Zhaohua Jin.**

He was the embodiment of the rules. His gaze seemed to gather the frigid glimmer of an entire galaxy, and wherever his divine robes swept, even time seemed to freeze. For ten thousand years, endless solitude had been the only scenery beside his throne.

Until Xuan Chiyin, the demon king of the abyss, stormed into that stillness with a tail as dark as black jade.

That enormous serpent’s tail held boundless power, yet before him alone, it sheathed all its sharpness. Steadfastly and irresistibly, it curled around the god’s slender waist, its scales conveying warmth from deep within the earth, dispelling the bone-deep chill inch by inch.

“Cold?” Xuan Chiyin’s low voice carried an unmistakable warmth as he pressed close to Zhaohua Jin’s cool ear. It wasn’t a question, but a declaration. His embrace was a blazing furnace, drawing the aloof deity carefully into its warmth, his body heat shutting out every trace of cold.

From then on, the stillness of the Frostglory Divine Hall was gently broken by the mist rising from the Warm Jade Spring. Zhaohua Jin soaked in its soothing waters, his usually frozen expression softened by the warmth into a languid look beneath the steam. Xuan Chiyin curled half his serpent body around him protectively, his chin resting lightly on Zhaohua Jin’s damp hair, satisfaction and protectiveness flowing through his slit pupils. His enormous tail lay submerged, its black-jade scales gleaming with a soft luster, the tip resting lazily on a sun-warmed stone. It was power at its gentlest rest.

Could his serpent tail keep him warm forever... and never let him feel cold again?
