Tempered by Phoenix Blood, Yixiu Is Reborn and Slashes Through the Nine Heavens

Prologue: The Phoenix of Vengeance Crawling Out of Hell

“If you want a life, take mine!” In her previous life, she knelt in a torrential downpour, begging the gods with bloody, broken knees.

She opens her eyes again, reborn. Honghui’s burning breath in her arms scorches her palm. This time, Ula-Nara Yixiu smiles as she wipes the blood and rain from her face. “You think you’re worthy of taking my life?!”

She remembers! Cold rain soaked through her thin clothes. The vermilion doors of the Imperial Medical Bureau reflected the dazzling silk flower in Rouze’s maid’s hair. “The baby’s in distress, and the imperial physicians are too busy to save your son~”

She remembers! Incense drifted through the warm chamber of Yikun Palace. The emperor wrote “Auspicious Sign” in vermilion ink, smiling tenderly, while she knelt on the cold golden bricks with Honghui’s corpse in her arms. All she got in return was: “That madwoman who kills her children! Drag her out!”

And she remembers most of all! The gold lettering for “legitimate eldest son” on the imperial genealogy cut like a knife, carving away her humiliation across two lifetimes. Why was Rouze still the moonlight in everyone’s heart, even after her bones turned to ash? Why was her Huier still called a “son of a concubine” even in death?!

Tempered in hellfire, she is reborn, and the once-virtuous empress returns with a blade in hand!

On the carved canopy bed in Jingren Palace, her vermilion-nailed fingers dig into the brocade quilt. The gentleness in her eyes splinters, revealing a poisonous flame like that of an Asura.

As rain pours from the sky, she kicks open the Imperial Medical Bureau’s locked doors with bare feet! The instant Huichun’s silk flower falls from her temple into the mud

“Anyone who blocks my son’s path,” she says, grinding her bloodstained embroidered shoe over the lovely flower, “I’ll send you to the underworld ahead of him to scout the way!”

Holding her dying beloved son, she barges into the emperor’s den of tenderness.

The swaddling cloth falls open. Honghui’s purplish little face shatters the vermilion “Auspicious Sign” on the imperial desk
