Return to Ancient Times

Su Ran is an ordinary young man from the 1980s, living in an era swept up in the tide of reform and opening up. Yet deep down, he always feels there’s a fire in him with nowhere to burn. After being accidentally electrocuted, he transmigrates to the ancient Southern Chu Dynasty. Barely arrived, Su Ran finds himself in a crisis, mistaken for a spy and nearly killed. Fortunately, he uses his knowledge of the 1980s and his quick wit to get out of trouble.

In this ancient society, rife with political intrigue and strict social hierarchies, Su Ran begins to make a name for himself with his modern business acumen and unique insight. He opens factories, improves production methods, and creates unprecedented goods, quickly amassing wealth. He reforms agriculture and promotes new farming techniques, ensuring the people have plenty to eat and wear. He reorganizes the military and introduces modern military concepts to strengthen its fighting power. But every step he takes meets fierce opposition from conservative forces, and plots and frame-ups follow one after another. Yet with his modern knowledge and unyielding perseverance, Su Ran repeatedly turns danger into safety, stirring up a storm in this ancient world and changing the course of history.
