Aotu: The Bright Moon and Green Maples Stir Up Sorrow

The spring tide rises level with the sea, and the bright moon over the ocean rises with the waves. … “Mother, this journey is fraught with danger. Though I’ve never seen our true home, what if you go and never return?” “…Then I’ll go and never return.” … I do not know for whom the river moon waits, only that the Yangtze carries its waters away. She had been an orphan since childhood, adopted by some kind stranger whose face she had never seen. She had kept looking for her benefactor, but there had never been a trace of them. Then one day, everything changed. A child appeared out of nowhere in her home. After that, there was no stopping it: more and more children kept appearing out of thin air. And as if that weren’t enough, they all grew unbelievably fast, as though they’d been fed growth hormones. Actually, having a family is pretty nice. But why does it look like I’ve become the heroine of some melodramatic novel? ˃̣̣̥᷄⌓˂̣̣̥᷅ … I am a cultivator, yet because of so-called fate and the Child of Heaven, I must bear every accusation and end up as someone everyone wants dead. I refuse to accept it. If Heaven wants me dead, I’ll kill Heaven. How many return beneath the moon? The setting moon stirs longing among the riverside trees. (You may find the synopsis a little confusing, so don’t worry. The story starts out more focused on everyday life, and the main plot will become clear later. Take your time reading. I’m a new writer, so please excuse my inexperienced writing. (The heroine is a bit of a sarcastic commentator, cool on the outside but warmhearted, with a lot going on in her head. This story has both family bonds and romance, so ship whoever you like. I’ll try to give everyone their due. Aside from the heroine’s own story, there won’t be any angst for the characters from Aotu. There may be an inappropriate relationship dynamic, forced love, and confinement in an extra chapter. Early OOC warning, though it won’t stray too far from the characters.)
