Eastern Han: From the Start, I Get a Golden Eagle and Command the Huangzhong Volunteers!

On the western frontier of the Han Empire, Li Yao is the heir to a powerful family, and his father commands the Huangzhong Volunteers. Their prospects collapse when their patron at court, Grand Commandant Duan, dies suddenly.

His father flies into a rage, but Li Yao sees further ahead. The iron army that once followed Duan Jiong in pacifying the Western Qiang is still in their hands, and he is about to gather its brave and battle-hardened retainers under his command, one by one. Instead of poring over the classics to compete for the elusive title of Filial and Incorruptible Candidate, he'd rather use the time before chaos descends to train the skilled young horsemen and archers into loyal followers ready to fight for their lives.

A golden eagle lands on his shoulder as the young man rides out. His father agrees to let him choose a chick from the falconry. When fully grown, it will have a wingspan of over ten feet and be bold enough to fight a wolf. The day the raptor on his shoulder spreads its wings will be the day the Huangzhong Volunteers reclaim control of their destiny. If the court cannot be trusted, then he will build up his own forces and make himself indispensable. If the realm is about to collapse, he will first secure his footing on the grasslands of the Hehuang region.

When the time comes, his cavalry will ride south. Who will dare say that warriors from Liangzhou are fit only to serve as blades for the scholars of Guandong? On that day, Li Yao will lead every young man who follows him and make the Huangzhong Volunteers shake the world.
