Investiture of the Gods: Eighth-Rank Yin Deity, Ruler of the Three Mountains and the Underworld!

Beyond Three Mountains Pass, a foolish young man kept watch over his adoptive father's new grave for three years. Then an immortal from the Chan School passed by and tapped his spiritual platform with a single palm, awakening him from the chaos. At last, he remembered who he was and saw the true nature of this world.

Born with a Yang spirit and a pure Yang soul, he obtained the Dragon-Tiger Art and wielded a peachwood sword. From then on, his Yang spirit roamed a hundred miles by night, slaying demons and banishing evil while earning hidden virtue by guiding departed souls to rest. He rescued a girl from a coffin in the snake demon's lair at Yellow Wind Cave, accepted the Azure Lion Ruyi from Lady Suniang, and received the rank of Eighth-Rank Yin Deity, taking charge of the underworld affairs within three hundred miles of Three Mountains Pass.

But in this Investiture of the Gods world, the Human Emperor's mandate still endured, the underworld authorities had yet to be established, and lost souls and wandering ghosts ran rampant as demons and monsters stirred restlessly. Zhang Jili was no longer content to be merely a village watchman. He would build a shrine beneath Mount Longhu, recruit wandering gods, and establish an underworld administration. With the three-foot Dragon-Tiger Sword in hand, he would fight to secure a path to reincarnation for every soul that had died unjustly inside and beyond Three Mountains Pass. The rank of Eighth-Rank Yin Deity was only the beginning. What he truly sought was to become the fairest ruler of the underworld.
