Journey to the West: The Only Son of the Heavenly Master, I Recruit Ao Lie into the Jie Sect

Three hundred years after the Investiture of the Gods, Ling Xiao hatches from an egg to find the Jie Sect destroyed, Tongtian imprisoned, and the Chan Sect and Western Sect hunting down the remnants of the Jie Sect everywhere. It's hell from the start, but a System notification offers him the Chaos Pearl, a Jie Sect Missionary Edict, a Peak Quasi-Saint Trial Card, and a protective island formation, maxing out his advantages right away. When Great Emperor Zhenwu comes to test him, Ling Xiao activates the trial card and smacks him flying tens of thousands of feet with the Biyou Great Hand Seal. The Jade Emperor is stunned, and Taibai Jinxing rushes over that very night with a recruitment edict. Ling Xiao makes his terms: the Divine Might Heavenly General post in the Bureau of Thunder, freedom to choose his hours, and the right to keep the old Jie Sect grounds. The Jade Emperor grits his teeth and agrees to them all. Better yet, Ling Xiao sets his sights on Ao Lie, the third prince of the West Sea Dragon King, who is supposed to become the White Dragon Horse on the pilgrimage west.

With a strike of his Qingping Sword, Ling Xiao splits the void and takes Ao Lie as his last disciple right in front of Ao Run, teaching him the Shangqing Immortal Arts. Guanyin sends a message, trying to snatch the disciple away, but Ling Xiao drives her into the void with a single sword strike. Ao Lie immediately kowtows and calls him Master. While Buddhist arhats keep watch over Flower-Fruit Mountain, Ling Xiao squats in front of the Heaven-Mending Stone, pouring innate yin and yang energy into its stone embryo to change its fate. He grins. "Brother Monkey, when you finally jump out, the Jie Sect will have a place for you as its senior disciple."
