Getting Stronger by Killing Enemies in Close Combat in Bright Sword, Taking on an Entire Special Forces Team

Wang Gensheng transmigrated into the world of Bright Sword and became a soldier in the Independent Regiment, having started out as a shepherd. During the skirmish at Yang Village, the Japanese special forces were all armed with Thompson submachine guns, wore helmets, fired rifles from the hip, and had steel plates embedded in their bulletproof vests. Two hundred and sixteen soldiers fell, and all they had to show for it were two dead Japanese soldiers. Wang Gensheng used grenades to score two kills, and two surges of warmth welled up inside him: killing enemies made him stronger, and the closer he was, the greater the boost.

During the night raid on Wanjia Town, he silently took out sentries with throwing knives, executing more than thirty traitors with one knife each. His physical abilities soared by eleven percent. Kong Jie promoted him from ordinary soldier all the way to deputy company commander of the cavalry company, while Li Yunlong personally ordered him to teach the whole regiment how to use throwing knives and grenades.

During the Battle of Lijiapo, the Yamazaki Battalion held a circular fortification. Artillery fire followed by infantry charges achieved little. Wang Gensheng led the grenade squad to the front line, pulled the pins, struck the grenades against their helmets, and threw them after a two-second delay. Sixty grenades exploded in midair, raining shrapnel down on the enemy, and silencing most of their machine guns in an instant. As the charge sounded, he threw twenty knives, then charged head-on at three bayonets with his bare hands.
