Journey to the West: Namo Gatling, Chanting Is No Match for Rat-a-Tat-Tat

Xuanzang transmigrates to the Journey to the West, landing in Chang'an to the acclaim of the masses. The emperor urges him to set off, and the people kneel to see the holy monk off, but all he wants to do is curse: with no strength to even truss a chicken, he's supposed to fetch the scriptures? Isn't that just delivering a package?

Luckily, his System arrives just in time: an arsenal of weapons from an interstellar civilization. Barrett rifles, plasma cannons, antimatter guns, and with enough points, even a dimensional strike weapon. The more outrageous the challenge he completes, the richer the reward. Xuanzang looks over the weapons list, the corners of his mouth slowly rising. Who says he has to chant sutras on his pilgrimage?

At Two Realms Mountain, a tiger blocks the road. Guanyin smiles from the clouds, waiting to watch the holy monk make a fool of himself. Xuanzang whips out a Barrett and blows the tiger's head off with one shot. Guanyin's smile freezes. The local earth god trembles as he asks Xuanzang to take Sun Wukong as his disciple. Xuanzang presses his gun to the god's forehead.
