Small-Town Twists and Turns

After her plans to make it in Beijing fall through, Fang Yiyan returns to her hometown in Northeast China to care for her gravely ill father. She takes over a duo-comedy troupe on the verge of disbanding. With its members scattered and no venue to perform in, she runs around trying to rebuild the troupe, only to unexpectedly encounter Lu Ye, a musical prodigy she fell out with in Beijing.

The two disillusioned young people go from clashing to working together. She stays true to tradition, while he brings his talent for modern music. Together, they find innovative ways to blend duo comedy with online short dramas and revolutionary-themed cultural tourism. The ancient melodies are given new life, and the little troupe becomes an overnight sensation, putting their entire small town on the map.

As they face the challenges of sudden fame, they must resolve internal conflicts and confront difficult choices in love. This is a journey of growth about tradition and innovation, leaving and returning. Watch as a young woman from a small Northeastern town takes the stage in her hometown and sings in her own springtime.
