Frostpoint, Burning Notes

Athlete and Musical Theater Performer

Once hailed as a prodigy who burst onto the scene, freestyle skiing aerials athlete Shao Xuerui was the only athlete from Huaguo to qualify for the Winter Olympics final. But her overly aggressive strategy led to a mistake in the final, and she crashed out of contention. Not only was she seriously injured, but the relentless online abuse also plunged her into the depths of despair. At her lowest point, she unexpectedly ran into her old nemesis, Xu Yingle. Back in school, athletic student Shao Xuerui looked down on the "overly sensitive" arts student, while arts student Xu Yingle despised the "all brawn and no brains" athletes. Their feud was known throughout their entire grade. Now, however, it was this rising musical theater star who stepped up to help her when she was at her most miserable.

She couldn't let go of her love for the sport, but she was trapped in a spiral of failure and couldn't pull herself out. He used music and characters from his shows to help heal her. At last, she resolved to return to training, only to discover that she couldn't get past the mental hurdle. The move she had botched became a permanent shadow over her. Without it, she had no chance of winning at major competitions. Aerials is known as gymnastics on snow. It tests not only an athlete's physical strength and skill, but also their control over the rhythm of each move. Once again, he came to her aid. This talented musical theater performer, who could both act and write, created music just for her that would fire up her fighting spirit as she waited to compete. He also composed melodies precisely timed to the rhythm of multiple skiing maneuvers, so that she could follow the beat and perform each move with poise as she soared, spun, and landed. Through repeated practice and adjustments, Shao Xuerui finally overcame her inner demons and set out on her journey once more.
