Hong Kong Films: The Rise of a Crime Boss, Beginning with The Money Empire

Lin Hui transmigrated into the Hong Kong crime drama world of the late 1960s and early 1970s. This was the heyday of the Four Great Detectives and the Four Great Families. These were the best of times. Hong Kong Island was developing at a breakneck pace, full of opportunities, and even a penniless country boy could become a tycoon. These were the worst of times, and also the best of times. Lin Hui brought this era to an end and ushered in a new age of his own.
