The Record of Slaying Demons and Exorcising Evil

The end of the Tang dynasty draws near, and an age of chaos begins.

Warlords carve up the land, and the realm falls into turmoil.

Whenever chaos arises, monsters and demons are sure to follow.

Followers of evil paths emerge in droves, slaughtering the innocent in acts too horrifying to imagine.

A great demon from the southern wilds appears, feeding on humans and ruling without challenge.

People nurture inner demons in their hearts, and everyone becomes a demon, falling to the dark path and bringing disaster to their corner of the world.

Worse still, a great demon among men seeks to steal Heaven's place. It breaks open the Gates of Hell, and thousand-year-old vengeful spirits return to the mortal world. They gather ghost soldiers and appoint ghost generals, raising a kingdom of ghosts on human soil.

In this age of chaos, human lives are no more than blades of grass.

And then a Taoist appears amid the turmoil.

He bears the world's most savage thoughts,

spending over a decade cultivating Taoist arts deep in the mountains.

He carries a peachwood sword in his hand

and a gourd of wine at his waist.

Alone with his sword, he roams the world.

He intervenes wherever he sees injustice and slays every demon and monster he encounters.

He cuts down demons and exorcises evil all along the way, vowing to restore peace to the land!!!
