I've been reading web novels for about 15 years. I used to read everything, but now I'm always in a reading slump. These days, I mostly read historical, sports, infinite-loop, entertainment, and fanfiction stories, along with books by a few authors whose styles suit me. At first, what matters most to me is the protagonist's characterization. After that, I care whether the plot fits who the protagonist is.
No Female Lead, No Romance, and a Sound Worldview
I've collected some novels with no romance. Of course, I haven't read every book on the list, or necessarily finished them all. Some stop working for me as I go along. But I guarantee there won't be any romance, a heroine, or a hero. If a romance plot shows up later in a book I dropped before getting that far, please let me know so I can remove it. The Best Hogwarts and Harry Potter Fan Fiction
Only recommending great male-oriented novels, all of which I've read. I don't recommend anything merely average. There are too few masterpieces, so I've changed the list to focus on great works. I generally don't include novels that just follow the original story or copy its plot, so readers hoping for interactions with the original cast may be disappointed.
