No System, More Exciting
There are so many System novels that I'm tired of reading them. It feels like today's authors can't write a novel without giving it a System, or some other golden finger. The result is a flood of books of wildly varying quality. In truth, writing a great story without a System is the real achievement, and it's more likely to produce a masterpiece.
A Ten-Year Reader’s Book List
I've read most of the books I recommend, or I'm currently reading them. If I feel a book is poisoning me as I read, I'll remove it from time to time. I generally don't recommend books where the protagonists or supporting characters seem brainless, where the logic is a mess, or where the story lacks basic common sense. I think I'm too picky, so these days I'm basically always out of books to read.
Personal Favorites
These are all personal preferences. No mindless showing off, and it doesn't matter if the author is famous. I've read every book on the list. They should all have been published on Qidian, any exceptions are purely accidental. I've probably been reading novels for about ten years, starting in 2009. The first novel I read was by a big-name author: Battle Through the Heavens, as everyone knows. After one or two xuanhuan novels, I realized I wasn't especially fond of the genre.
