The Ultimate Romance

When word spread that the He and Jiang families were going to arrange a marriage, everyone in high society was baffled.

The two families had nothing to do with each other. They weren't friends, and they had no business dealings. What on earth was there to marry for?

On the day the two families met, the He family's only son, the young master, ignored Jiang Weiyi, the Jiang family's daughter, who was trying far too hard to look like a wealthy socialite. Instead, he pointed at the girl coming out of the kitchen with a tray and said, "I want her."

Jiang Shuang, the girl he'd called out, stiffened. Her mind went blank for a moment, and she fled under everyone's gaze.

Less than ten minutes later, someone knocked on her door. There was still a smear of mashed potato at the corner of Jiang Shuang's mouth.

He Yingxun, the young master who had held court at the dinner table, leaned lazily against the doorframe. "Pretending you don't know me?" He said her name slowly, teasingly. "Jiang. Shuang."

Jiang Shuang's scalp prickled. "We agreed... that we'd have nothing to do with each other ever again."

After parting in London, they really hadn't seen each other again.

Like two intersecting lines, they had briefly met at a crossing, then gone their separate ways.

"Who said we agreed on that?" He Yingxun raised an eyebrow. "You were the one making all the decisions by yourself."
