This isn't a family-themed story, is it? The names aren't arranged according to seniority; there are so many people with the same surname, yet it's impossible to tell their generation. The author hasn't described the family's composition. There's no sense of family unity or cohesion; the protagonist doesn't seem to identify with the family.

It's just too bland; it's like a narrative essay, told in a leisurely, story-like manner, like reading an essay.
