The Terrifying Third Shore

Humanity established its first permanent colony on Mars, “The Third Shore.” When biologist Jiang Yuan arrived as one of the last groups of immigrants from Earth, she discovered a bizarre rule: everyone had to take a drug called “Tranquility” every day, or they would suffer mass hallucinations. After secretly stopping the medication, Jiang Yuan saw a horrifying truth: every resident of the colony had already died. The “colleagues” and “friends” she saw each day were all holographic projections generated by AI.
