"I Live and Die Together with the Great Yi" is a philosophical epic novel based on the sixty-four hexagrams of the "Book of Changes". The book has 999 chapters in nine parts. It is based on the core of "returning to the roots and creating new ones", with the core motto of "responsible for the freedom of the times, creation is freedom", connecting ancient and modern time and space, and completing the contemporary philosophical reconstruction of the traditional Yi study. The story focuses on Yuan Xiaoyao, a contemporary doctor of philosophy, who is deeply trapped in academic bottlenecks and the spiritual dilemma of a stylized marriage. On a thunderstorm night, he encounters the fragments of the silk book "Yi" and accidentally falls into the hexagram world composed of yin and yang lines, starting a soul adventure spanning ancient times to the present day. The novel adopts a dual-perspective narrative. The adventures of Yi World are mainly based on the first-person inner monologue, and the reality line is spread out in the third-person. A high proportion of dialogues creates unique narrative tension. In the world of Yi, Yuan Xiaoyao meets Jiang Qi, an ancestral woman who originally understood the Yi. She breaks away from the dogma of books and understands the original Yi principles of the world. She experiences the soul resonance of love in the Xian hexagram, the fateful helplessness of profit and loss history, and the self-awakening of the desperate situation of the hexagram. He also encounters the cutting-edge ideas of the Yi study of Cheng Qingyi, a female scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty, and goes through thousands of years of interpretation of the changes in the Yi study and the ups and downs of modern civilization. The whole book uses the two hexagrams of Xian and Jiajia as its latitude and longitude, elegantly deconstructs the essence of love and marriage, and connects the history of thought and practical dilemmas.
